Abstract

The rapid development of technology has driven the need for network management activities to facilitate network administration in network management, monitoring, maintenance and security. The use of Unmanageable Switches leads to a decrease in network performance and a reduction in the quality of network security in the Merdeka University Information Technology Faculty Laboratory. This research aims to find out how to optimize the performance of the management system and improve network security on the Manageable Microtik Switch CSS326- 24G-2S+RM. The method used by the researchers is qualitative action to know the results of evaluation and improvement if using a Manageable switch rather than using an Unmanageable Switch. The results of the study study of the Microtik Manageable Switch CSS36-24G-2S+RM feature are quite simple in application and use. The researchers concluded that using Port Isolation, DHCP Snooping, MAC Address Filtering, Port Lock, Vlan and Management Bandwidth features on the Manageable Microtik switch CSS326-24G-2S+RM can make it easier for network administrators to manage and secure the network.
