Abstract

The Southern Cross Line (SCL) is a project located in Blitar district which aims to connect Tambakrejo beach with Serang beach with a travel time that is usually 2-3hours, now it is less than 30 minutes.
The implementation of the work to build the southern traffic lane is dominated by heavy equipment with rocky and muddy soil characteristics and needs to be trimmed along 12 km. So the selection and determination of heavy equipment must be considered in order to operate effectively.
This study uses the theory of heavy equipment productivity, determining the type and number of tools according to the terrain, the type of soil to be excavated, and the compacted. The amount of heavy equipment used will determine the optimalwork time. Heavy equipment working hours use normal hours, which is 8hours/day, the calculation method is used by trial and error, from this method, the calculation of heavy equipment production by taking calculations alternative/assumption. The results of the alternative calculation/assumption were obtained as many as 7 units of Pc 300 excavators, 15 units of bulldozers, 3 units ofroller vibrators, and 22 units of dump trucks with a work time of 27 days or with 216 hours along 12 km, so that the work is faster than the work in the field. The total calculation of the stockpile from sta 0+000 to sta 2+000 obtained a total volume of43435.3776 m3. The total calculation of excavations from 0+000 to sta 2+000 obtained a volume of 24932.82285 m3. The estimated cost of excavation of the landfill is Rp. 9,384,446,102.67.
