Abstract
Indonesia has good and fast economic growth, therefore investors are interested in investing or investing in Indonesia. Coal or black pearl mining is one of the industries chosen by potential investors because the government is seeking the best possible stock investment facilities in Indonesia. In addition, the high selling price of coal and increasing sales from year to year are also influencing factors. Based on these problems, this study aims to determine the effect of capital structure, liquidity and sales growth on profitability (ROA) in coal mining companies listed on the IDX for the 2018-2022 period. The population in this study were 22 coal mining scompanies listed on the IDX. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique from the results obtained 15 companies that match the research criteria. The data analysis method uses multiple linear regression with the help of the SPSS 16 program. The results show that (1) simultaneously capital structure, liquidity and sales have a significant effect on the profitability of coal mining companies (2) partially capital structure has a negative effect on profitability (3) partially partial liquidity has a positive effect on profitability (4) partially sales growth have a positive effect on profitability. For the test results the coefficient of determination (R2) is 12.2% and the rest is influenced by other variables outside the variables studied.
