Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the financial performance of state-owned banks using the vertical-horizontal method in the 2017 to 2021 period. The location of this research is state-owned banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The population used in this research is the financial statements of 5 companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2017-2021 period. The samples used in this study were 5 companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The type of research used in this study was a quantitative approach. The data source obtained is secondary data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange www.idx.co.id. The data collection technique is in the form of financial reports contained on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) website for the 2017-2021 period. The data processed is the financial statements of BUMN Banks for the period 2017 to 2021. The data analysis techniques used are vertical and horizontal methods. The results of this study are based on the results of vertical analysis of the balance reports of the five state-owned banks in the balance sheet financial statements that have developed well, although during the last five years the movements have varied, the vertical analysis of the profit and loss of the five banks shows that they are not optimal. Based on the results of Horizontal Analysis of the Balance Sheet Reports of the five BUMN banks from 2017 to 2021 experiencing a positive trend in total assets and a negative trend in total liabilities, horizontal analysis of the profit and loss statements shows that the total income of the five BUMN banks has increased and decreased from year to year.
