Abstract
This study aims to determine differences in bank financial performance as measured by using the variables Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non Performing Loans (NPL), Return On Assets (ROA), Operating Costs of Operating Income (BOPO), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR). between conventional banking and Islamic banks listed on the Indonesian stock exchange for the 2016-2020 period. The population in this study were 44 banking companies. Sampling using purpose sampling so that as many as 6 companies into the sample consisting of 3 conventional banking companies and 3 Islamic banking companies. The analytical method used is financial ratio analysis, normality test and Independent Sample Different test (T-Test). The results showed that there was no significant difference between the financial performance of conventional banks and Islamic banks as measured using CAR and NPL. There is a significant difference between the performance of conventional banks and Islamic banks as measured using ROA, BOPO and LDR. Overall, the financial performance of Islamic banks is better than conventional banks.
