Abstract
This study aims to obtain empirical evidence about the effect of profitability, liquidity, leverage and firm size on dividend policy. The independent variable profitability is proxied by return on equity, liquidity is proxied by the current ratio, leverage is proxied by the debt to equity ratio and firm size is proxied by size, namely Ln total assets. The dependent variable used is dividend policy.
The population in this study are manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in the period 2016 to 2021. The samples were collected using a purposive sampling method. In total there are 6 companies determined as a sample. The analytical tool in this study was SPSS 25, while the research method used was descriptive statistics, classic assumption test (normality test, autocorrelation test, multicollinearity test and heteroscedasticity test), multiple linear regression, then proceed with the determination test (R2), test t and f test.
The results of this study indicate that profitability, leverage and firm size have no significant effect on dividend policy. Meanwhile, only liquidity has a significant effect on dividend policy. The result of the coefficient of determination shows 23.1%. These results indicate the ability of the independent variable to explain the dependent variable, while 76.9% is explained by other variables.
