Abstract
This research was conducted to examine the effect of the Capital Adequacy (CAR),Liquidity (FDR), Non-performing Financing (NPF), and Efficiency (BOPO) variables onprofitability which is calculated by Return On Assets (ROA) in Islamic Banks in Indonesiafor the 2019-2021 period. The data used in this study were obtained from annual financialreport data published in the Annual Report which is supported by OJK. The population inthis study is 15 Islamic Commercial Banks and 20 Islamic Business Units in Indonesia. Thesampling technique used is purposive sampling with the criteria of Islamic CommercialBanks in Indonesia which present financial reports for the 2019-2021 period, 16 Islamicpublic banks and Islamic business units are used. The analysis technique used in this studyis the multiple linear regression test, which is a test used to measure the dependent variablethat is influenced by two or more independent variables. While the classic assumption testused in this study includes the multicollinearity test, autocorrelation test, heteroscedasticitytest, and normality test. The results showed that CAR had a positive and significant effect,Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) had a negative and significant effect, while NonPerformingFinance(NPF)andOperatingExpensesonoperatingincome(BOPO)hadanegativeand insignificant effect on profitability (ROA). The predictive ability of the fourindependent variables on the dependent variable ROA is 86.8%, while the remaining 13.2%is influenced by factors outside the research model
