Abstract

The volume of traffic that can be accommodated on a road segment is determined by the capacity of the intersection on the road compared to the capacity of the road itself. The intersection of Jalan Galunggung - Jalan Canal Surabaya is located in the Klojen sub-district, Malang city, has a 3 foot intersection, which in terms of traffic needs to get serious attention. This final project aims to evaluate the performance level of the intersection and to find problems at the intersection and provide solutions or alternative plans to overcome them. This study uses the 1997 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual Method (MKJI, 1997). To be able to evaluate an unsignalized intersection, data is collected in the form of traffic volume, road geometry, side barriers, type of road environment, median, population and signs around the intersection. Data analysis includes traffic volume, intersection capacity, degree of saturation, delays and queuing opportunities. After analyzing the performance of the unsignalized intersection, the
degree of saturation (Ds) is 5.46, which means it exceeds the requirements recommended by MKJI 1997, which is 0.85.
