Abstract

Concrete is one of the main materials for making buildings made from a mixture of portland cement, aggregate, water, and sometimes added using additives. Concrete technology has developed very rapidly, one of which is the use of non-sand concrete and the use of silica-containing quartz materials ( SiO2) which can increase the compressive strength of concrete and also because of the abundant resources in Indonesia. Quartz is used as an additive which is made into a filler and fills the space left by sand and increases the compressive strength of non-sand concrete. This study used quartz sand as a filler that passed sieve number 200 and used variations of filler levels of 10%, 15% and 20%. Tests were carried out to determine the effect of coarse aggregate size and filler content on the compressive strength of non-sand concrete, in this study the specimens used were concrete cylinders with a size of 15 x 30 cm which were 28 days old. In this study, the concrete with the highest compressive strength value was found in concrete using 20% quartz filler content with an average compressive strength value of 21.33 MPa and using coarse aggregate, namely 5 mm crushed stone and for the lowest average compressive strength value found in concrete using 10% filler content with a compressive strength value of 17.93 Mpa and using coarse aggregate, namely 20 mm crushed stone.
