Abstract
Malang City is one of the cities that is quite often hit by floods. Based on data obtained from BPS flood points in Malang City continued to increase from 2016, namely 2 points in Klojen and Blimbing Sub-districts to 34 points in 2020 spread across all sub-districts with the most flood points being in Blimbing District as many as 10 points and Lowokwaru District as many as 11 points. One of the locations that often floods every year in Malang City is Glintung Village, precisely in RW 05 which is also known as Glintung Water Street (GWS). Various flood control efforts have been made to stop the flooding that occurred in the location. Treatments that have been carried out include self-help dredging of rivers, the use of pumps to accelerate the flow of water to rivers, making infiltration wells and so on. In fact, the handling measures that have been taken are still unable to completely overcome the flooding in Glintung Village. One solution if efforts to stop flooding are not successful is to enable residents to live side by side with floods by turning their houses into flood-resistant houses. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method with data obtained through observations and interviews with residents affected by the flood. Sampling was selected by purposive sampling method so that the data obtained was more accurate as needed. The results of the study showed that the most frequent damage to house buildings was on the walls and floors of the house. Therefore, in this study, we will discuss aspects that must be considered so that the houses of the residents of Kampung Glintung become flood resistant.
