Abstract
The current development of construction technology from the planning and implementation of development, continues to progress very rapidly. Where with various types of building structures used, such as steel structures and reinforced concrete structures. Of the two systems, there are differences in the nature of the material and method of implementation, which affect the time and cost of implementation. This study aims to determine the comparison of the amount of the budget and time schedule between steel structures compared to reinforced concrete structures, in the implementation of the construction project for the Plastic Factory Office Building of PT. Mahkota Sukses Makmur in Pasuruan - East Java. After calculating and analyzing the data, the results obtained were that the total construction cost of the steel structure was IDR 2,972,794,117.21. and the total construction cost of implementing reinforced concrete structures of IDR 2,438,857,587.80. And for the duration of time for carrying out work using steel structures for 14 weeks, and using reinforced concrete structures for 20 weeks. Based on the results of the comparison of the two systems, the cheapest structure is obtained using reinforced concrete structures. And for the fastest duration of work completion time is to use a steel structure. So the selection of which system to use must be in accordance with the needs, field conditions and the function of the building itself.
