Abstract

Concrete has weak properties against tensile forces, the addition of fibers in concrete mixtures can be an alternative to increase the tensile strength of concrete. Ori bamboo is one of the materials that can be used as fiber in concrete mixtures. The research is an experimental study by making 35 cylindrical specimens and testing the compressive strength and split tensile strength. The planned compressive strength is 50 Mpa. The pumice filler content used was 10% by weight of cement. Ori bamboo fiber content used is 0%, 1%, 1.5%, 2% and 2.5% of the weight of cement with a length of 2 cm, width of 0.05 - 0.1cm and thickness of 0.1 cm. The results obtained compressive strength and split tensile strength of high quality concrete with pumice filler ori bamboo fiber content of 0%, 1%, 1.5%, 2% and 2.5% respectively are 53.10 Mpa, 54.40 Mpa, 56.33 Mpa, 58.17 Mpa, 57.11 Mpa and 5.31 Mpa, 5.87 Mpa, 5.30 Mpa, 6.71 Mpa, 6.49 Mpa. The highest compressive strength and split tensile strength were obtained in specimens with 2% ori bamboo fiber content at 58.17 Mpa and 6.71 Mpa with an increase of 9.55% and 26.31% from high strength concrete with pumice filler without ori bamboo fiber.
