Abstract
Concrete is widely used in construction work, because concrete can be adapted to the type and function of the construction, the use of sand in concrete will increase the density and weight of the concrete itself, to obtain effective results from an aesthetic and economical point of view, one of the innovations used is using non-sand concrete. A type of concrete that does not use sand, of course, has a hollow shape, light weight and low compressive strength, therefore the technology used to fill these cavities is by using a ceramic filler so as to reduce porosity. This research was conducted with the aim of testing the compressive strength of non-sand concrete using ceramic filler with variations in the size of coarse aggregate.
The test object made was cylindrical concrete measuring 15 x 30 cm, using coarse aggregate measuring 5 mm, 10 mm, 20 mm, water-cement factor of 0.5, 15% ceramic filler content, 8% fly ash and aggregate volume ratio ratio coarse-cement 2:1, 3:1, 4:1. The compressive strength test was carried out on specimens that were 28 days old using a CTM (compression testing machine) based on the ASTM C39 standard. The results showed that on non-sand concrete that did not use additives, the average compressive strength values of the specimens with variations in coarse aggregate size of 5 mm, 10 mm, 20 mm were 10.474 MPa, 12.173 MPa, 12.739 MPa respectively. Whereas in non-sand concrete using 15% ceramic filler and 8% fly ash with variations in aggregate size of 5 mm, 10 mm 20 mm and compressive strength values respectively in the ratio of aggregate-cement mixture 2: 1 of 23.779 Mpa, 3 :1 of 20.948 Mpa and 4:1 of 13.305 Mpa.
