Abstract

Earthquakes can cause damage to buildings. To reduce the risk of damage, the building is given a stiffener (bracing), in this study using an eccentric bracing frame system that has high stiffness with a symmetrical bracing location, it aims to find out how to plan a steel building structure using an eccentric bracing location. Therefore, the structure needs to be reviewed regarding the location of the eccentric bracing. The structure is modeled as an 8-story high-rise building. There are four variations of the sides and corners of the building namely MLBESST, MLBESTT, MLBEST and MLBESP. Modeling is done in 3D using SAP2000. The problem reviewed is how the influence of the location of eccentric bracing on the behavior of the building structure when subjected to earthquake loads based on SNI 1726-2019 and 1726-2015. The results of this analysis show that MLBESTT against MDK decreases because it is dominant where the largest vibration period with a value of 1.9120 seconds, the smallest base earthquake force with a value of 2519.5 kN, and a decrease in deviation with a value of 29.748 mm. So if an earthquake occurs in the building, it will reduce structural damage, so the building can be said to be safe.
