Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries where earthquakes occur frequently, therefore structures built in Indonesia really need to take earthquake forces into account to prevent collapse. Non-symmetrical shapes greatly affect buildings against earthquake forces, therefore eccentric bracing components are needed to minimize earthquake forces.
Analysis was carried out to determine how much influence eccentric bracing has on the vibration period, drift between floors, and base shear force. The structure reviewed is an
8-story steel building with eccentric bracing with an asymmetrical plan in the shape of L, C, T. The structural modeling was carried out using the SAP2000 application and using spectrum response analysis based on SNI 1726-2019.
Based on the theory of earthquake resistant structural performance, the recommended structural model is MDAC because it has the largest vibration period value, namely 1.57
seconds, although the earthquake force and inter-floor deviation values are not the smallest but are better than the other two models. With a base earthquake force value of 4630.19 kN for the X direction and 3949.33 kN for the Y direction, and for the drift between floors of 21.25 mm for the Y direction
