Abstract
The use of more concrete absorbs the increasing use of cement. With the increasing use of concrete, it can deplete the natural resources needed to produce cement. The cement content used in high-strength concrete ranges from 700-1100 kg/m3 where its use is almost 3 times more than the use of cement in conventional concrete (Liu, 2020). Therefore, new innovations are needed to produce environmentally friendly concrete by making high-strength concrete with added pumice stone filler. The manufacture of high-strength concrete mortar with added pumice stone filler and phase variations and sand gradation variations aims to determine the effect of phase variations with sand gradations on the compressive strength of high quality concrete with pumice filler.
In this study, the compressive strength of concrete was tested on cube specimens
measuring 5 x 5 x 5 cm. The test was carried out after the concrete was 28 days old. Variations in the Water Cement Phase used were 0.35, 0.4, and 0.45 while the variations in the sand gradation used were zone 1, zone 2, zone 3 and zone 4. The test objects were 75 pieces and divided into 4 populations. The concrete compressive strength test was carried out using a compression testing machine based on the ASTM C94 standard.
The results showed that the concrete mortar specimen with the effect of 0.35 phase variation and zone 2 sand gradation had the highest average compressive strength of 62,25 MPa with filler added with pumice of 10%. While the normal test object without added filler has the highest average compressive strength of 65,06 MPa using 0.35 phase and zone 2 sand gradation. has the highest compressive strength value of high-strength concrete.
