Abstract

Population and economic growth which has an impact on the increase in the number of motorized vehicle users, so that it affects traffic density so that it can have anegative impact, one of which is the problem of noise. There are several locations that should be protected from noise, one of which is the education area (School). Theresearch was conducted at the Catholic Junior High School Brothers Celaket 21 whichis located on Jl. Attorney General Suprapto Malang City. Because it is indicated thatthere is noise pollution which is quite disturbing the activities of students in teaching and learning activities.
Data collection on noise, vehicle volume and vehicle speed was carried out forfive research days, starting from 09.00 to 14.00. By using the data analysis of thecalculation of the noise level (Leq) and the calculation model of the Calculation of RoadTraffic Noise (CoRTN).
From the results of the calculation of the noise level (Leq) at points one, two and three, it does not meet the standard quality noise level based on the Decree of theMinister of the Environment No.48 of 1996, where the noise that occurs at point 1 is78.0 dB(A), at point 1 2 is 64.5 dB(A) and at point 3 is 64.8 dB(A). While at points fourand five already meet the standard quality criteria for noise levels with a tolerance limit of 3 dB(A), with a noise value at point 4 of 58.9 dB(A) and at point 5 of 55.5 dB(A).The results of the comparison of the noise level (Leq) with the CoRTN calculationmodel, show the results of the calculation with the CoRTN model at point 1 of 72.65dB(A), while based on the calculation of the noise level (Leq) that occurs at point 1 of78.0 dB(A). . At points two, three, four and five the noise that occurs at these points issmaller than the predicted traffic noise compared to the CoRTN calculation model.
