Abstract

A traffic accident is an unexpected and unintentional road event involving vehicles with or without road users. Throughout 2023, traffic accidents in Malang City will
reach 433 incidents. Observations were carried out on Jalan Kolonel Sugiono, Malang City with the aim of knowing the number of traffic accidents and identifying areas prone to accidents. Jalan Colonel Sugiono with a length of 3.30
km is one of the accident-prone areas in Malang City which is divided into 3 segments, namely Km 0 - 1.1, Km 1.1 - 2.2 and Km 2.2 - 3, 3. The methods used are Equivalent Accident Number (EAN), Upper Control Limit (BKA), Upper
Control Limit (UCL). The analysis results show that at Km 0 -1.1 Black Spot where the EAN value Km 0 -1.1 = 66, BKA value = 66, UCL value = 99. The main factor causing accidents is human impact. Careless driving, disorderly, careless. Apart
from this, it is also caused by road alignment factors that do not meet the requirements.
