Abstract

One of the efforts to add beauty and comfort value to the atmosphere of the Faculty of Law building, he construction of an automatic dancing fountain is planned. In addition, it can be used as a means of education and attract new students to study at Merdeka University Malang. The design methods used are literature study, field data collection, determining pipe and nozzle specifications, and fountain design. The data used is nozzle specification data using straight jet nozzle type monument model, material, size 1 inch, pressure 125 KPa, flow 3.33 m3 / h, height 5m. For piping network specifications from the reservoir to the pond using aw type pvc pipe, diameter 2.5 inch (76mm), thickness 2.6mm, inner diameter 70.80mm. For the fountain header piping network using stainless steel pipe type 202, diameter 2.5 inch, thickness 1.2mm, outer diameter 63.50mm, inner diameter 61.10 mm. Based on the planned dancing fountain design, the fountain pool is circular in shape with an outer diameter of 5.5m and an inner diameter of 5.2m, the height of the pool from the bottom to the surface of the pool is 1.2m, the water requirement of the pool is 14.86m3 and the time needed to meet the pool is 36.47 minutes. The piping network from the reservoir to the pond has a total length of 103.65m, with the height from the reservoir output to the pond is 13.60m. The working hydrostatic pressure is 2.48 Bar, the pressure loss that occurs is 1.86 Bar. The outer ring and inner circumference fountain header piping design has 10 burst points, the total length of the outer ring header pipe is 12.96 m, and the length of the inner ring header pipe is 11.39 m. To produce water pressure as high as 5 m, the required discharge is 9.25 liters / second with a flow speed of 117.08 m / second. The pressure loss that occurs in the outer ring header pipe is 0.39 Bar, the inner ring header pipe experiences a pressure loss of 0.36 Bar. The pump used in the outer ring and inner ring header pipes is a pump with a minimum capacity of 9.25 liters / second with a (head) of 18.10 m.
