Abstract
Concrete is a familiar material and is most often used. Concrete isexperiencing a very rapid development in the world of construction, especially forstructures that have high quality concrete needs so that with the presence of highquality beeton can optimize the structure. In modern construction developments, concrete is required to be a high-grade and high-performance constructionmaterial for buildings that require a large compressive strength to be able tocarry the load of the received structure. In the manufacture of high qualityconcrete, it is generally the same as cement which is normal concrete, causingenvironmental pollution. The manufacture of high-quality concrete mortar madefrom glass material fillers made with variations in cement water factors and sandgradations aims to find out how much influence the cement water factor and sandgradation have on the compressive strength of concrete mortar.
The test object used is in the form of a mortar with a lifespan of 5 x 5 x 5 cmand will be tested for compressive strength at the age of 28 days. The test objectstotaled 75 pieces divided into 4 populations. The variations in the cement waterfactor used are 0.35, 0.4, and 0.45 while the variations in sand gradations usedare zone 1, zone 2, zone 3 and zone 4 with a filler content of glass material10%.Beeton compressive strength testing is carried out using a concrete (compressivetesting machine) based on astm C94 standard.
From the results of the study, it was shown that normal concrete mortar inpopulation I had the highest average compressive strength of 66.21 Mpa with acement water factor of 0.35 and a zone 2 sand gradation. As for the high qualityconcrete mortar population II the highest average compressive strength is64.74Mpa for zone 2 gradation with a cement water factor of 0.35. Populationtest object III highest average compressive strength of 63.38 Mpa with zone 1gradation and cement water factor of 0.40. As for the population test object 4 thehighest average compressive strength is 54.5 Mpa with a zone gradation of 1 anda cement water factor of 0.45. From this study, the use of cement water factor of0.35 and the gradation of zone 2 sand (rather coarse sand) the compressivestrength is higher, which is 64.74 Mpa. While the lowest compressive strength isfound in the use of cement water factor of 0.40 and the gradation of zone 3 sand(rather fine sand) which is 34.60 Mpa. So that it can be accumulated the lower thefactor of cement water and the rougher the use of an aggregate, the higher thecompressive strength will be.
