Abstract

Classification of level requirements based on the room function in thebuilding causes Irregular mass. Irregular mass is a condition where level has 150%difference mass to the nearest level based on SNI 1726-2019. Irregularity mass canmake building going to collapse, so it needs shear wall. Shear wall is a reinforcedwall that installed vertically to increase the stiffness of the building.
The structure has 12 levels with core wall in Malang city. The loadsaplication based on SNI 1727-1989 and SNI 1727-2020. Modeling of the structuris done in 3D with SAP 2000. Analysis of earthquake forces using responsespectrum based on SNI 1726-2019. The researched problems are the effect of mass irregularity on participating mass ratios, periods and frequencies, base reactions and joint displacement of levels.
Results of analysis shows that participating mass ratio x and y directions all model of building frames have the same number of shape modes, periods andfrequencies longest values occurred on MRGKM 1, periods and frequenciesshortest values occurred on MRGKM 2, base reactions smallest values x and ydirections occurred on MRGKM 1 and joint displacement of levels smallest valuesoccurred on MRGKM 2.
Based on performance of structural theory, the selected structure is MRGKM1 because more dominant where periods and frequencies have longest values, basereactions x and y directions have smallest values even though joint displacement oflevels is not eligible. Whereas the avoided structur is MRGKM 3, because oppositeto performance of structure theory where periods and frequencies have smallestvalues, base reactions x and y directions have biggest values and joint displacementof levels x and y directions have biggest values.
