Abstract

Abdulrahman Saleh Airport has a runway length of 2250 m with Airbus 300, Boeing 737-800, and ATR72-500 aircraft types, with a total thickness of runway flexible pavement of 90 cm. 6 million tourists are visiting the city of Malang in 2022, with 300 of them being foreign tourists. To support this, the airport service level is an important factor that must be considered, including runway performance which can be analyzed by comparing the FAA method and the US Army Corps Engineer's Design Method. The purpose of writing this final project is to plan the thickness of the flexible pavement runway Abdulrahman Saleh Airport - Malang with plan B 737-900 aircraft using the US method. Army Corps Of Engineers Design and the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) method and analyze whether the results of flexible pavement thickness planning from the two methods can serve up to 20 years in the future. Based on the planning results of the two flexible pavement structure planning methods used, it was found that the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) method has a thickness of 33 inches or 84 cm, while the US Army Corps Of Engineers Design Method has the largest thickness, which is 58 inches or 149 cm.
