Abstract

Land change is a phenomenon that has a significant impact on the environment in various regions. This research aims to determine the environmental impacts resulting from changes in land cover around the Lahor Dam in Karangkates, Malang Regency, East Java. This research method includes field surveys, satellite image analysis and mapping to map and analyze land changes and their effects on the surrounding environment. The research results show that there have been significant changes in land cover around the Lahore Dam over a certain period of time. These changes include increasing residential areas, expanding agriculture and deforestation. Observed environmental impacts include habitat fragmentation, water quality degradation, and loss of
biodiversity. These results provide important insights into the impacts of land use change in the Lahor Dam environment. The implications of this research highlight the need for sustainable environmental management and protection to reduce the negative impacts of land use change. This study also highlights the need for public awareness and active participation in the environmental protection and management of the Lahor Dam.
