Abstract

n East Java, there are a lot of resources that need to be utilized to improve the economy and people's standard of living. Batu City is one of the tourist cities in East Java which has various villages which have new tourist attractions every year. The impact of this tourist attraction provides increased welfare for the people of Batu City. One of them is Pesanggrahan Village, which is a village located in the Batu sub-district, Batu city, East Java Province. This village has a strategic location with cultural treasures which provide a great opportunity to become a tourism icon. Apart from that Pesanggarahan Village has quite
large potential and opportunities, this village also has several problems that must be considered. One of the problems in this village is the lack of public awareness about the opportunities for customs to become tourism icons. So, this problem becomes an obstacle to realizing Pesanggarahan traditional
legal culture as a tourism destination. The aim of this activity is to create awareness among the Pesanggrahan Village Community about the customary law tourism icon which can be used as a tourist attraction. Apart from that, it can be an example of introducing the culture or customary laws of the
Pesanggrahan Village Community so that other tourist attractions, especially in the city of Batu, will follow suit. This step will make Pesanggrahan Village known as a traditional tourism village and provide increased tourism thereby improving the welfare of the Pasenggrahan Community. In an effort to realize this goal, this research used a qualitative method by looking for problematic problems that hinder it and
looking for opportunities for traditional culture that can be used as tourism icons, presented in narrative form. The results of the hearing with the village government and representatives of the Pesanggrahan Village Community to ask for views regarding cultural and traditional icons that have the potential to become tourism. Then carry out outreach to the community and the Pesanggrahan Village Youth Organization, working with partners and monitoring activities that can support the realization of cultural and traditional tourism.
