Abstract

Industrial competition in Indonesia is increasing along with the raising demands of society. Industrial companies engaged in services and manufacturing must be able to compete in terms of quality, price, and timeliness of production. So every industry needs a mature strategy to compete. Likewise with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) "Allwoden Woodworking" which is located on Jl. Saxophone No. 1A, Tunggulwulung, Kec. Lowokwaru, Malang City, East Java, which is a line of business engaged in wood or furniture made from pallet wood. As a company engaged in manufacturing, facility layout is of course the key to smooth production. The results of the identification of the facility layout design at the Allwoden Woodworking MSME are that there is still a backtracking flow that occurs, the finishing work station is located close to the product storage area and far from the production process area so that it can cause the material
transfer distance to be too far, and there is no space to place the material drying or drying the finished product. By using the Activity Relationship Chart method and BLOCPLAN 90 software, an alternative layout is obtained with a material transfer distance of 59.92 meters. There is a reduction in the displacement distance from the initial layout to the proposed layout by 50.38 meters or 45%.
