Abstract
The research objective is to compare the financial performance of Islamic banks with conventional banks in the 2020-2-22 period by utilizing financial ratios, namely CAR, NPL/NPF, ROA, ROE, BOPO and LDR/FDR. According to the determination of the sample criteria, two sample groups were obtained for the study, namely 9 Islamic commercial banks and 9 conventional commercial banks. The analytical tool used as proof of the hypothesis in research is the Two-Mean Difference Test (independent sample t-test). The findings show that the average Islamic banking financial ratios (NPF and FDR) are significantly higher than conventional banking, while in other ratios, Islamic banking has lower quality. However, if it is thoroughly reviewed, Islamic banking shows a qualified performance compared to conventional banking.
