Abstract

Development of the tourism sector in increasing income at the Youth, Sports and Tourism Office by Plasida Angelina Bola Pati. Mr. Bonaventura Ngarawuta as the first supervisor and also Mr. Tommy Hariyanto as the second supervisor who was always loyal and patient in guiding and directing the author to the end of the research with the title "Development of the Tourism Sector in Increasing Local Revenue of Malang City".
Tourism is often seen as a leading sector because it can increase the country's foreign exchange. In practice, the tourism sector is a factor that has a major influence on Malang City Original Revenue. As can be seen from the existing data, regional revenue receipts from the tourism sector are increasing from year to year. But this has undergone a change where income for Malang City Original Revenue has decreased since the pandemic that hit or commonly referred to as Covid -19, with this having a significant impact on the economy of Malang City where the decrease in Regional Original Income was as much as 20, 78%. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to have a policy or a way out that must be made in order to return income or in other words so that the revenue/realization of Malang City's regional income can be in accordance with the predetermined target. Efforts to develop tourism can be one way to increase regional income in Malang City.
In this paper, it is also explained both the objectives and benefits of the research studied on the development of the tourism sector in increasing Regional Original Income. The goal to be achieved is to find out what efforts are made by the Youth and Sports Office of Malang City in terms of tourism development itself to increase Malang City's regional income, and also to find out and study the extent to which the income received by the Malang City Local Government is comes from the revenue of the tourism sector of Malang City. In addition to the purpose of this research, there are also uses, both theoretical and official. Theoretical in nature, namely, to add scientific insight for students and observers of the tourism sector and Regional Original Income and gain knowledge about tourism potential in Malang City, increasing Regional Original Income through the development of the tourism sector in Malang City, while the practical one is with this research, presumably it can be used as material for consideration or as input in terms of making policies to overcome the problems of the tourism sector in Malang City, can be used as a means to know and learn everything related to scientific work, can be used as a reference for further research.
The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method, with the research location of the Malang City Tourism Office with the population and sample being researched on tourism development efforts carried out by the Malang City DISPORAPAR and researching the contribution of the tourism sector to Malang City's regional income.
In terms of increasing the Regional Original Income, the efforts made are to increase tourist interest, provide guidance and training to the community and youth, develop new tourist destinations, promote tourism in Malang City. As for the efforts carried out with the aim of increasing the regional income of Malang City itself. From the available data, it can be seen that the realization of Malang City's local taxes decreased in 2019 as much as 91.80%, in 2020 the tax realization became 82.77% and in 2021 it increased slightly with a realization of 93.12%. Thus, it is hoped that all parties involved either directly or indirectly in the process of developing the tourism sector in Malang City can work together and be responsible for achieving the desired goals such as introducing tourism potential and also the Malang City tourism industry in order to attract interest and attention. the tourists so that the more tourists who visit it can indirectly affect the regional income of Malang City, and can provide additional income for the local community.
