Abstract

This service aims to: (1) Provide training on new skills and knowledge to the members of youth organizations in Purworejo Village, Balong District, Ponorogo Regency
regarding the use of sawn wood waste as handicrafts. (2) Utilizing wood waste as handicrafts to increase the income of youth organizations in Purworejo Village, Balong District, Ponorogo Regency. This type of service is community service. One of the efforts to increase the income of Karang Taruna is by reprocessing wood waste into something that has a sale value, such as making wall shelves. Currently, the use of
wood waste is still limited, so when many villagers are renovating their homes, the abundance of wood waste can pollute the environment. The purpose of this Community Service activity (PKM) is to provide a solution by holding training on how to make handicrafts from wood waste in a simple way. Participants in this PKM activity were youth groups in Purworejo Village, Balong District, Ponorogo Regency. The activity carried out is to socialize the benefits and how to make handicrafts to youth organizations. In Karang Taruna, an example of a tool for the process of cutting wood waste is given and it is shown directly how it works right up to the packaging process until it is ready for sale. Karang Taruna in Purworejo Village is expected to be able to utilize wood waste into something of sale value, so that it is expected to provide benefits from an economic perspective, environmental cleanliness, as well as from an
environmental preservation perspective.
