Abstract
The accidents are an indicator of safety performance that can avoid. This study aims to explore the impact of safety leadership, safety culture on safety performance through safety behavior and safety climate in East Kalimantan coal mining contracting firms. This research uses data obtained through surveys of the respondents using a proportionate
random sampling. This survey respondents were 161 production workers from 11 coal mining contractor firms. Measurement of influence relationships among variables using descriptive analysis and the structural equation modeling. The results of the study of the structural equation model indicate that safety leadership and safety culture influence the safety behavior, the impact of safety leadership is more significant than the safety culture. Safety leadership and safety culture affect the safety climate, the influence of safety culture is more significant than the safety leadership. Safety leadership and safety culture impact the safety performance, the strength of safety leadership is greater than the safety culture. Safety behavior and safety climate impact the performance of safety, the effect of safety behavior is more excellent than a safety climate. Safety leadership impacts the safety performance through safety behavior. The direct impact of safety leadership on safety performance is more significant than the effect of safety performance through safety behavior. Safety leadership effects on safety performance through safety climate. The direct impact of safety leadership on safety performance is more significant than the effect on safety performance through safety climate. Safety culture influences safety performance through safety climate. The direct impact of safety culture on safety performance is more significant than safety performance through safety climate.
