Abstract

In this paper are (1) To know the efforts of the government (Polri) in law enforcement against drug abuse and (2) To know the obstacles faced by government apparatus in solving drug abuse problem among the society, nowadays there is increasing tendency.Data of this study include primary data and secondary data. Primary data is data that directly from informant and secondary data that is data obtained from literature, research report and legislation relating to research object. The informants in this study include (1) Drug Officers from various related elements. The data of this study is processed by using descriptive qualitative method, that is analyzing data obtained from the informants to get the conclusion sisternatis.The findings of the study indicate that (1) In the prevention of drug abuse crimes, in order to achieve the objectives and to facilitate the execution of their duties, the Police use Pre-Emptive, Preventive and Represive methods; And (2) the police in handling the crime of narcotics abuse experienced internal constraints and external constraints. Internal obstacles are experienced, namely, limited operational facilities and budget constraints. External constraints such as the difficulty of proving cases of narcotics abuse, prosecutorial demands or judicial verdicts are still light, its marketing network is very closed and secret.
