Abstract

Tourism sector has an opportunity as an income resources for local government especially through tax and retribution, so that some strategic steps should be taken in order to give shape to Tourism Vision ans Mission of Malang City. This research shows the tourism condition of Malang that has not brought about a sigficant development. If this condition persisted continously till 2008, it means that vision and mission of the tourism has not well created. Result of the research gives an alternative of solution how to create the vision and mission of tourism in Malang. Data analysis technique uses statistical descriptive to nine tourism conditions in Malang as a result of a questionnaire answer.
