Abstract

This paper attempts to introduce and apply the data envelopment analysis for analyzing the performances of regencies and cities (local government) in province of Bali. The research period in this paper is 1994/1995-1998/1999. The performances of each local government indicated by the relative efficiency, that can be derived from data envelopment analysis model. The result suggest that, in research period, only 2 from 9 local government in Bali province showed the good performances. This condition indicate that the 2 local government in Bali province (Denpasar city and Badung regency)more better performance in technical efficiency if compared in relative way the other local government in Bali.
