Abstract

This study attempts to analysis management model of hospitality industry; Waduk Selorejo and Waduk Karangkates, regency (Kabupaten) Malang, conceptual framework based on Balanced Scorecard perspective for survival and competitiveness,i.e. , in terms of learning and growth perpctive (HRD), internal business process, customers focus, and financial perspective, and than integrated in management vision and mission. The indicators to be analyzed in this research are grouped into forth dimensions according to those aspects under study. First, customer focus perspective indicators are: customer satisfaction, services time, identified market segment, coordinated in cross fuction, and competitive identification. Second, internal business process indicators are: To know business process value chane; product design of atraction tourism object, product strategy, and investment. Third, learning and growth perspective indicators are, achievement motivation training, organizasional behavior, and skill of communication services, and forth, financial perpective with indicators are: funding strategy, income, and operating efficiency. Research design integrates both exploratory and confirmatory research whisch manisfested an applied research. The unit of analysis in building the model is the employees and customers of Waduk selorejo and Karangkates of tourism objects in regency Malang, East Java, Indonesia. The data are obtained by a well-prepared questionnaire, supported by financial reporting for recondary data, and analyzed using factor and descriptive analysis. The finding research indicated three dimensions represents the management behavior in the area of Waduk Selorejo and Karangkates are: 1) customers focus; 2) internal business process; 3) human resources development; All of those factors represented the balance score characterized by 76,36% cumulative eigenvalues, and 4) finance factors identified by secondary data of financial reporting, for verification both of result and to describe score card of management model. The weaknesses of management model based on the finding research are internal business process perspective. There are not supported by fully equipment and investment, therefore, the ,management model indicated partial management, and need synchronizing among perspective of Balanced scorecard. This study proves that clearer identified picture of the tourism industry management model based on balanced score card. Under study its behavior and management model perception then more appropriate of tourism industry management model are expected to become more effective and sustainable.
