Safety and health issues in general in Indonesia are often overlooked. The high number of accidents in Indonesia is a proof of these issues. Construction services sector is the most risk sector of occupational accidents; in addition to other sectors are agriculture, fisheries, timber, and mining. The number of construction workers, which reached about 4.5 million people, 53% of them are only educated up to elementary school, even 1.5% of the labors have never received any formal education before. In this research, planning of K3 is based on the guidelines or OHSAS 18001 standards that are also in accordance with the regulations and standards related engineering construction in Indonesia even under the laws and regulations by the government.
In this study, researchers directly conduct the survey in the field to identify the risks of K3, then immediately provide an assessment of the risks K3 that is happening in the field, as well as learn how to measure good handling to the risk of K3 on the activities of development projects. The result is that many workers do not know much about K3; what is K3, how the implementation of K3, and so on. This shows that there is still a lack of attention or commitment of contractors to carry out the K3 program well.
