Abstract
Nowadays discussion about counterfeit products become more and more common. Supposedly because the significant increasing in counterfeit product industries. Many industries chose to produce counterfeits because creating new original products is more costly than to counterfeit the existed ones. But, the problem is counterfeiting is considered illegal. That’s why consumers need to prevent counterfeit product industries from keep increasing in numbers by not buying counterfeit products. Unfortunately many consumers knowingly and preferably chose to buy counterfeit products. To prevent this kind of consumers from increasing first it is needed to know which kind of consumers prefer to buy counterfeit products. By using culture dimension and searching for consumer’s motivation for buying counterfeit products writer found that consumers with low uncertainty avoidance prefer to buy counterfeit products. Consumer’s motivation to buy counterfeit products is mostly for symbolism and prestige.
