This study aims to examine and analyze performance using the variable competence and compensation as a determinant at the Islamic University in Kediri Kadiri using explanatory research approach. The results showed that: (1). Lecturer’s Competence at the Islamic University Kadiri affects the financial compensation received; (2). Lecturer’s Competenceaffects the non-financial compensation received; (3). Lecturer’s Competence affects the performance; (4). Lecturer financial compensation received affects the performance; (5). Lecturer‘s Non-financial compensation received affects the performance; (6). Lecturer’s Competenceaffects the performance of lecturers through variable receives financial compensation, and (7). Lecturer’s Competenceaffects the performance of lecturers through a variable non-financial compensation it receives. The Results support the theory that it was an achievement of performance is an achievement of the specific job requirements that ultimately are directly reflected in the output produced both in quantity and quality
