Recent development in linguistics has brought to the idea that langauge has power. Specific use of language in social practice such is in advertisements, invitations, acknowledgements, and the like may give evidence that it is intended to impose power towards the readers. However, the global trend in which international interactions take place so extensively leads to the consequence that new concepts have to be dialectically involved. Thus, new model of language uses must be put into consideration just like in Indonesia. Due to unavailability of equivalence, for example, loan words can not be avoided, as experienced in Bahasa Indonesia borrowing words from English. Besides, borrowing also happens partly to display identity and status, to convey the concepts and images of modernity and sophistication, on ever internationalization. Efforts should be made to enrich Indonesian vocabulary in any part of knowledge, either in technology, natural sciences, social sciences, as well as humaniora sciences. This paper will also demonstrate the use of loan words in newspapers.
