Abstract

Javanese literature, spanning more than a thousand years and extent in hundreds of different worries, is an important heritage of the Indonesian people, but unhappily its study is still at an elementary stage. This study is aimed at analyzing one of the most famous literary genres in Java, Panji story by using the structuralism approach. The tale, which from the subject of this study, has been selected from an especially obscure corner of the Javanese literary field, Wangbang Wideya, middle Javanese Panji Kidung in tengahan meters. The point of view will be focused on Wangbang Wideya as literature, the literary and dramatic arts as depicted in Wangbang Wideya.
