Abstract
Psychological well-being reflects the balance of various aspects of student life, including personal-social, academic, and career. When its level is low, students are prone to depression, social isolation, low motivation to learn, and behavioral disorders such as aggressiveness and difficulty concentrating in lectures. This study aims to determine the relationship between Psychological Well-Being (PWB) and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) in college students. The subjects in this study amounted to 100 students selected using accidental sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through two instruments, namely the Psychological Well-Being scale which was prepared based on Ryff's (1989) theory with 23 items and had a reliability of 0.861, and the Fear of Missing Out scale developed by Przybylski et al. (2013) with a total of 10 items and a reliability value of 0.816. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression techniques. The test results
show that there is a relationship between FoMO and PWB in college students, with a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.10 or 10%. This indicates that FoMO contributes 10% to changes in the PWB variable. Thus, the hypothesis that there is a relationship between Fear of Missing Out and Psychological Well-Being in college students is accepted. This study shows the importance of managing Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) adaptively in order to contribute positively to improving students' psychological well-being. These findings can serve as a reference in designing psychological interventions based on digital literacy and mental health.
