Abstract

Violence in dating is a conscious and deliberate act of violence that occurs between people who are dating. One of the factors that teenagers experience even dating violence is parenting. Authoritarian parenting is a parenting style that requires children to submit to the values and principles held by their parents. This study aims to determine the relationship between authoritarian parenting and violence in dating adolescents at SMA Negeri 1 Bantur. The research sample was 31 students using purposive sampling technique. The measuring instrument used is the scale of authoritarian parenting and the scale of violent behavior in dating. Based on the results of the hypothesis test using the product moment formula, it produces a correlation coefficient of 0.958 with a p value of 0.000 (p <0.05). The two variables have a very strong correlation, with a positive relationship. This means that the higher the value of authoritarian parenting, the higher the violent behavior in dating, and vice versa. So that the proposed hypothesis can be accepted.
