Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of Fear of Missing Out FoMO on Quarter Life Crisis among final year university students in Malang City. This research employed a quantitative method. Data were obtained through questionnaires distributed to 100 final year students in Malang. The sampling technique used was incidental sampling. The measurement instruments included the FoMO Scale (α = 0.885) and the Quarter Life Crisis Scale (α = 0.885). Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression. The results of the analysis showed that the regression coefficient (β) for FoMO was 0.490 (sig = 0.000) < 0.05, with a contribution of 24% (R² = 0.240). Based on these results, it can be concluded that FoMO has a positive and significant influence on Quarter Life Crisis. FoMO accounts for 24% of the variance in Quarter Life Crisis, while the remaining 76% is influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. The findings indicate that the higher the level of FoMO experienced by students, the greater their tendency to experience a Quarter Life Crisis. These results highlight the importance of understanding the psychological dynamics of final year students in the digital era and encourage further research to explore additional factors that may mediate this relationship.
