Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between authoritarian parenting patterns and bullying behavior in students in Malang City. Quantitative research methods and the number of 400 respondents through non-probability sampling techniques and using accidental sampling methods. The measuring instrument consists of an authoritarian parenting scale (α = 0.868) and a bullying behavior scale (α = 0.836). Using a simple linear regression analysis technique shows a regression coefficient (β) of 0.592 (p = 0.000 <0.05) with a contribution of 59.2% (R² = 0.592). The results prove a significant positive relationship, meaning that the higher the authoritarian parenting pattern, the higher the bullying behavior in students in Malang City. The majority of female respondents (55%) are aged 20–22 years, with both dominant variables in the moderate category. This study can provide information that authoritarian parenting patterns can predict the level of students who engage in bullying behavior, so there needs to be implications regarding the handling of bullying behavior and education related to bullying behavior.
