Abstract

In 2017 Pengadilan Agama (PA) Malang stated that there were 377 cases of marriage dispensation submitted, while in 2018 it rose to 400 cases. The data illustrates the level of early marriage which is still quite high in Malang Regency. This study was conducted to determine marital satisfaction in terms of interpersonal communication in couples who married in their teens. The design of this study is descriptive quantitative with the aim of knowing how much influence interpersonal communication has on marital satisfaction in couples who married in their teens. The subjects in this study were individuals who married at a young age in the Karangploso sub-district, Malang Regency, amounting to 150 subjects. The data collection tool in this research is a psychological scale consisting of an interpersonal communication scale and a marital satisfaction scale. The results showed that the regression coefficient value was 0.111, with a significance level of 0.000, meaning that interpersonal communication has a significant influence on marital satisfaction in couples who married in their teens. The magnitude of the influence of interpersonal communication is 11.1% on marital satisfaction.
