Abstract
The development of technology and information is moving very rapidly along with changes in the economy and shopping behavior in the community. The convenience provided from online shopping can trigger consumptive behavior and this can happen to teenagers who have not been able to control themselves. the role of self-control holds an important responsibility during the process of buying goods, because self-control can guide and classify things when someone does good things, and also when spending money. The study population was 82 members of the church community. The sample is 82 people with saturation sampling technique. Hypothesis testing was carried out using Carl Pearson's product moment, resulting in a correlation coefficient of -0.805 with a p value of 0.000 (p <0.05). This shows that there is a negative relationship between self-control on consumptive behavior, the higher the self-control, the lower the consumptive behavior, on the contrary, the lower the self-control, the higher the consumptive behavior. With these data, it can be concluded that the self-control variable affects consumptive behavior in the late teens of Shopee users.
