Abstract

Efforts to develop street vendors are an effort to develop street vendors carried out by the government, in this case the Malang City Industry and Trade Department. The growth of the workforce is not in line with job opportunities, economic growth is an average of 5%, with this growth having an impact on the number of limited workforce. The existence of street vendors is said to handle the workforce and reduce unemployment as well as improve the economy and open up new job opportunities for some people. Malang City is a place where street vendors thrive. This is embodied in the Tribina Cita Malang City concept, namely Malang as a student city, Malang as an industrial or trade city and Malang as a tourism city so that it becomes an attraction for everyone who comes so that fostering street vendors becomes an important thing.
This researcher uses qualitative research methods and collects data using observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman model analysis which consists of data reduction, data exposure and drawing conclusions The results of this research are related to efforts to develop street vendors, namely the development of street vendors.
The results of this research can be stated that efforts to develop street vendors have not been maximized because there are still many obstacles faced, such as the lack of awareness of traders regarding the arrangement of locations intended for street vendors, sources of capital. which is still lacking and there needs to be additional outreach to the community and also traders in the market about the importance of obeying regulations and maintaining the cleanliness of the selling location.
