Abstract

The Taro Chips Home Industry is a home business founded by an entrepreneur named Retno. This industry processes taro into taro chips which was established in 2019 in the Bululawang area. This community empowerment will change a less productive environment into a more productive environment along with the implementation of special programs. Development in Indonesia continues to limit poverty rates. Unemployment, backwardness and helplessness are signs of this poverty. Therefore, poverty alleviation must be a top priority in implementing social development, including community empowerment. One sign of poverty is helplessness, which requires community empowerment. In the context of Indonesia's development, many people are in a pre-prosperous situation. To overcome powerlessness, community empowerment programs can be created with the aim of increasing their independence. By becoming self-employed, you will gain new skills and knowledge to reduce social disadvantage.
Poor people cannot take advantage of opportunities because of these weaknesses, so these opportunities are exploited by the rich and capable groups. Therefore, poverty alleviation efforts can be achieved through efforts to strengthen and develop community productivity. This can be achieved through a people's economic system, a system that leads to community-centered development for all levels of society. Therefore, to earn a living, participate in development activities and be independent in life, a person can make efforts to improve the skills and knowledge needed to meet life's needs. The aim of this research is to determine the process of community empowerment through the home industry of taro chips. To determine the level of community independence that is able to create jobs for the community in Wandanpuro Village, Bululawang District. The focus of this research is the ability to compete for the advancement of the Taro Chips Home Industry, the ability to overcome a problem in the taro chips business.
After conducting research in the field, it can be concluded that the community empowerment process in the Taro Chips Home Industry is able to create independence for the people of Wandanpuro Village.
