Abstract
The Village Consultative Body (BAMUSKAM) is a people's representativeinstitution at the village level whose members are elected democratically. BAMUSKAMhas three functions, namely discussing and agreeing on village regulations with thevillage head, accommodating and channeling the aspirations of the village community,and supervising the performance of the village government. Village Government is asystem that regulates government governance at the most basic level. The VillageConsultative Body and Village Government also function as a forum for village residentsto participate in decision making related to development, public services, naturalresource management, and other issues that have an impact on the lives of localcommunities. The problem in this research is how the role of the Village ConsultativeBody (BAMUSKAM) in carrying out government administration in the village.This research has objectives to be achieved, both for researchers and for otherpeople. The aim of this research is to analyze and describe the role of the VillageDeliberative Body (BAMUSKAM) in carrying out village government administrationand analyze and describe the role of BAMUSKAM in carrying out village governmentadministration. in Klasmelek Village, Mayamuk District, Sorong Regency. With thebenefits of research, it is hoped that it will contribute to the academic field regardingthe study of knowledge about the Village Deliberative Body (BAMUSKAM) and it ishoped that it will be useful for institutions or institutions related to the VillageDeliberative Body (BAMUSKAM) as reference material for the future.The research used is a descriptive case study with a qualitative approach, with theresearch method used is descriptive qualitative which aims to provide systematic andaccurate descriptions and information based on existing facts. This method alsoprovides a direct relationship between researchers and informants.The results of this research show that BAMUSKAM in Klasmelek Village,Mayamuk District, Sorong Regency has played an active role in administering villagegovernment. BAMUSKAM has succeeded in channeling community aspirations,monitoring the performance of the village government, even though it has carried outthe function of discussing and agreeing on village regulations, there are still obstaclesfaced by BAMUSKAM in Klasmelek Village. First, BAMUSKAM's level of participationin village policy formulation is still low, so it has not issued village regulationsspecifically regarding villages. Second, BAMUSKAM's institutional capacity is stillweak. And there are several factors that hinder BAMUSKAM's role, namely the lowcapacity and skills of BAMUSKAM members such as knowledge of their duties andfunctions, lack of facilities and budget, and lack of support from local government.
