Abstract

Coban Rais is a waterfall tourist attraction that has been managed since 2003and involves several communities in the form of tourism development efforts. Thedevelopment of this tourist attraction is expected to be able to absorb the localcommunity as a whole to participate actively, so that community participation canmake the development of Coban Rais tourism a success.This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a problem formulation, namely how is community participation in community participation inplanning, community involvement in enjoying the results, and forms of community involvement in implementation at the Coban Rais tourist attraction, Oro-Oro OmboVillage, Batu City. Data sources were obtained from observation, interviews anddocumentation. Data analysis uses three stages, namely data collection, datareduction, and data categories.A form of community participation in planning is contributing ideas, includingplanning for building campsites and public facilities. Then, at the implementationstage, the real form of participation is divided into three, namely contribution ofthought, contribution of material and form of action. The opening of the Coban Raiswaterfall tourist attraction has had a good impact on the community, namelyimproving the community's economy and opening up new jobsfor the communityfrom tourism activities in Coban Rais.Based on the description, researchers provide recommendations to thecommunity to continue to maintain and utilize natural potential wisely and alwaysbe active in contributing ideas for the advancement of tourism in Coban Rais.
