Abstract

MS and Supervisor II Adhinda Dewi A. S.AP. FOLDER. Thesis Title: The Role of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Increasing Women's Empowerment (Study of Traditional Herbal Medicine Industry in Gadingkasri Village) in MSME Traditional Herbal Medicine in Malang city. This study aims to describe and determine the role of UMKM Traditional Herbal Medicine in increasing women's empowerment in the Gadingkasri Village. This research method is research with a qualitative approach. Qualitative research is a problem-solving approach based on an intangible description of numbers. Data collection was carried out by interview, observation, and documentation techniques. Data analysis in this study used 4 components consisting of data collection, data condensation, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Researchers use credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability to check the validity of research data. From the results of this study it can be seen that the role of MSMEs in increasing women's empowerment in the Gadingkasri Village which includes human resource development (HR), product marketing, capital assistance, production tools at Jeng Yoelly Traditional Herbal MSMEs is quite good. By increasing the development of human resources (HR) and product marketing, there are supporting and inhibiting factors for MSMEs, the need to make it easier for members who join MSMEs to receive training and in marketing can make it easier for consumers to buy products from UMKM Traditional Herbal Medicine, add socialization and training activities to members of the traditional herbal medicine community, the need for availability of capital assistance is used for incomplete facilities and infrastructure. The recommendation that can be given from the results of this study is to hold socialization in the form of routine training in the form of marketing and product management for members who are members of MSMEs, then capital assistance needed for facilities and infrastructure so that it can be achieved more optimally.
