Abstract
Traffic congestion on roads has become a problem, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. Increased activity in an urban area often exceeds the capacity of the transportation infrastructure system, which can create congestion. The level of road performance can be caused by an increase in vehicle volume and side obstacles such as parking on the road which can disrupt traffic activities. Jalan Kawi Atas is one of the secondary collector roads in Malang City which has a high traffic volume. This research aims to identify the characteristics of parking on the Kawi Atas road and identify the traffic volume to determine the impact of parking on the road on traffic performance and then plan parking patterns to arrange parking on the road so that it is easier to enter or exit the parking lot quickly so that can reduce congestion. From the results of the analysis, it was found that the degree of saturation was 0.49, which shows that the traffic performance of the Kawi Atas Kota road is still normal because the degree of saturation of the road is still below 0.75. To plan the parking pattern, a parking design was carried out on the Kawi Atas road with a total of 32 parking spaces for cars and 155 parking spaces for motorbikes.
